The Goleta Valley Library is one of our community's most important institutions. Every day, more than 1,000 patrons visit the library to borrow books, CDs, DVDs, audio-books, use the free computers with Internet access, or simply to relax, do homework, or read.
Who are The Friends?
The Friends of the Goleta Valley Library are the support arm of the Library and have been in existence for more than 30 years. We are an entirely volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
We raise funds through membership dues, the on-going book sale, and special events such as the yearly Signed and Rare Books Silent Auction.
Over the past few years, the Friends have funded
the staff salaries needed to keep the library open on Monday afternoons for over 3 years (at a cost of almost $40,000 a year)
book purchases for the Adult and Juvenile collections
all the Children's programs
the Summer Reading Program
computer and multi-media purchases
Thank you for your generous support!

Donate a book in his or her name to the Library!
The librarians' wishlist is on the Donate a Book page.
Please choose one of the books listed as these titles are those most needed by the library.
The Camerata Pacifica sponsors the Friends! For each $18 ticket purchased for one of its lunch-time concerts, the Camerata Pacifica will donate $10 to the Friends.
