The Goleta Valley Library is one of our community's most important institutions, serving people all over the South Coast.
Every day, more than 1,000 patrons visit the library to borrow books, CDs, DVDs, audio-books, use the free computers with Internet access, or simply to relax, do homework, or read.
Who are The Friends?
The Friends of the Goleta Valley Library are the support arm of the Library and have been in existence for more than 30 years. We are an entirely volunteer organization.
We raise funds through membership dues, an on-going book sale, and special events such as the yearly Signed Book Silent Auction.
Over past years, the Friends have funded
The Friends are working to raise enough funds to keep the library open on Monday afternoons instead of having it closed all day on Mondays. The cost of opening the library from 2 PM to 8 PM amounts to $1,000 per Monday.Thanks to our members' generosity added to the proceeds of the book sale, we have already succeeded in keeping the library open on Monday afternoons since July 2009.
Our goal for 2010 is to fund Monday openings for the year as well as continue our financial support to the Children's programs and the Summer Reading Program. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Donations are reviewed by library staff. What cannot be entered into the collections will be sold to benefit the library. Please drop off donations at the Circulation Desk.
All donations are tax-deductible to the amount authorized by the law.
Our annual Silent Auction of Signed Books is back!
All auction proceeds will go to the Summer Reading Program for Children
